After Coronavirus hit in Europe, a lot of companies are shutting down their offices and asking their employees to work from home or use vacation (paid or not). I saw that a lot of people are struggling to work from home and asking me all the time the same question: How am I doing it? I decided to write an article about it if there are more people are struggling with the situation.
First of all, I am a tech lead data engineer means I am working in the tech industry so my advice and styles are based on this. I don’t know another way so I am sorry if you are disappointed early in the article :) Aaaaaand I don’t have a kid :)
I’ve been working remotely for around 10 years. I established this work style when I founded my own company in 2010. After I sold my own company in 2015, I had begun working as a consultant and then I became a permanent employee of a company where remote work was not available. I struggled so much. I wanted to have an advice how to work at the office at that time but people looked at me as I am an alien coming from Mars and was working remotely there for World’s job :) They couldn’t understand my problem because they have never seen anything different other than coming to office at 9:00 AM and leaving around 17:00 or 18:00.
