Google Search is not My Default Search Engine After 20 Years

I have been a longtime Google Search user, both in my private and professional life. I lost my trust of the results and don’t like the new search result page

I remember the day Google became great about search because just a few months ago, I sold my algorithm (Sindex — Search and Index) to another search engine which was parsing websites and trying to categorize automatically. I am talking about the year of 2001 and 2002.

Google was great because they approached the problem different from others. It started as how many links you have been referred to, but then evolved by time. It was a good approach because it was like regular life popularity: How many friends you have, how much popular you are. Previously, there was no chance for small websites to be #1 in search results because all the other search engines were checking the websites’ hits (generally unique). If you have millions of visits, then you are in the top 10 of search results.

Google’s approach has created a new business sector: SEO — Search Engine Optimization which means, these people/apps are checking the latest trends on Google algorithm and offer you some suggestions about uniqueness of your content, title, title length…

I agree with what you say about Google search. I switched to duckduckgo some time ago when I also subscribed to a VPN service.
